Monique Arar began playing piano at the age of three. Originally
from Columbus, Ohio, Monique received her Bachelor of Music in Piano
Performance, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Russian and a minor in
French, from Miami University of Ohio. After her undergraduate studies,
Monique moved to Florida, where she worked in campus programming,
became proficient at the Harp, and taught piano lessons. Accepting a
Piano Teaching assistantship, Monique moved to pursue a Master of Music
Degree in Piano Performance at the University of Nevada Las Vegas,
which she completed last May. It was during her studies at UNLV that
Monique became acquainted with her fellow members of the Fire and Ice
Trio.
In addition to performing wiht her trio,
Monique is currently the Director of Hillel Las Vegas, planning campus
events and student programs, and is continuing her education at UNLV
by pursing a Certificate in Non-Profit Management.
In
her spare time, Monique loves to teach piano to students of all ages,
spend time with family and friends, cook and enjoy exquisite meals,
play outside, and travel the world.
